A Quilty Christmas in July Party! from A Little Bit Biased

So one day last January I finally tested my idea.  I embroidered some little wreaths on pieces of wool and top-stitched them to the front of a house for "windows".  I added in some little pom poms under the roof and planned on adding a button for a "door knob" on the front ...

BAKING BOAS from Kwilty Pleasures

Have you seen the trendy BAKING BOAS?
I received this one for Christmas last year
from my partner in crimes of fabric, yarn, travel and wine.
Kathy Guenther!
She also knows I am a Christmas Baking fool.

I just love it!
She found this one at Lehman’s in Oho Amish Country.

Many specialty / botique type stores carry these in many themes.
Calahans in Calabash, NC had these Nautical BOAs
The store BOAs are made of the thinner, flatter cotton towels and
it looks like they have 2 towels per BOA.
Retail costs between $20-$25

I knew I could ...

SCRAPPY TRIPPY KIMMY from Kwilty Pleasures

I have a great kwilty friend who loves scraps.
One of the first projects she encouraged me to do is...
Scrappy Trip Around the World blocks.

I have a project bin, with all the blocks
ready to sew.  Clover clips keep each block separate.

I used a light green print down the center of each block.
Looking at it now...there's not a lot of variance in color value.

I used the Bonnie Hunter's tutorial
and you can find that one here!
These (now) ugly blocks will come charity quilts.
Proves once more...I never have been a ...

A Finish From Leftovers from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I STILL can't share my shortcut quilt finish for the Fat Quarter Shop blog hop.  But I am going to share the little finish I made from the leftover fabric!

Any time I make a quilt design that has large "flip corners", I try and turn the bonus triangles into HSTs.  I had only ten approximately 4" little blocks to play with.

I decided to turn them into this fun little Christmas table topper.  It measures about 14" square.  I just had to dig through my holiday scraps and find an extra charm square to use framed as the ...
